Award-winning, dynamic smart charging company, Ohme, is the new official home EV charging partner for leasing company, Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) Fleet in the UK.
The agreement will see VWFS Fleet recommend Ohme chargers for all electrified vehicles on its customers’ fleets. This will further enhance VWFS Fleet’s fully-rounded EV offering, ensuring a smooth transition to electric for its customers.

VWFS Fleet is already outperforming the market on its transition to electric, with EVs making up 48.3% of its total order bank during 2023. By comparison, EV market share for all new car sales in 2023 was 16.5%.

Business drivers and fleet managers could make further savings by switching to one of the many smart EV tariffs available from companies such as Octopus or OVO.
With the average UK driver covering 6,800 miles a year, smart charging on an off-peak tariff in a typical EV would cost just £127.50 for a year’s worth of driving with Intelligent Octopus Go at 7.5p/kWh. At the new Standard Variable Tariff of 24.5p/kWh, that same annual mileage would cost £416.50. By comparison, the same mileage in an equivalent petrol car would cost a driver more than £1100.
Ohme’s dynamic smart chargers can connect with the grid in real time, automatically adjusting to optimise the cost of charging and accessing all the times of the smartest, greenest and lowest cost energy tariffs. Ohme also offers drivers the option to charge their car when renewable energy generation on the National Grid is at its highest, further lowering their CO2 impact.
